The Icenian Charitable Fund

It is a long-held tradition that the Icenian Society assists pupils who wish to take advantage of the fund set aside for them to ‘give back’ to the wider community.

It is with this in mind that we have, for the first time, prepared a document that explains our process and also the ways and means of application.

Who is eligible?

Any leaving U6 student, or Icenian (up to the age of 25), from the school who is planning to engage in serving, fund-raising for or entertaining a local or international community. This should be to ensure that they are able to make participate and for activities that would enhance their ability to do so. This might be during their summer holidays or similar.

What sort of activities might it include?

Helping the environment; assisting in a Developing World Country (building, teaching, etc); raising money for charity. The money must be used to make the event possible (performance, competition, tournament),the chance to join an adventurous expedition or take part in exploring something. If in doubt, ask.NB - Money cannot be given directly to the charity itself.

How the application process takes place?

A letter should be submitted to the committee by the 1st February each year. The committee will meet to discuss the application and all decisions made will be completed by 1st March annually.

How much money can I apply for?

A maximum of £2000 can be applied for each year, with no more that £1000 being given to a single person.

Write an email to jkempton@langleyschool.co.uk detailing your proposal.

Submit by 1st February.

Respond to any questions that might be posed by the committee.

Final Decision announced on 1st March
