Novermber saw the passing of Biology teacher, John Pearman, who worked at the school between 2002-2012. A character in every sense of the word, he is unforgettable to those who were in his classes - many of whom will remember well his poking of fun at the House system, by awarding points to Hogwarts Houses. He was a staunch lover of Cricket and Hockey, always prepared to spend sessions on the grass with the students practising their swings and their bowling. He once posted, on the staff room wall, in the Senior Management notices section 'be sure your sins will find you out', much to the laughter of his peers; additionally he always stood up to authority, challenging activities he deemed to be a waste of time. John never missed a day of school through illness, teaching Biology with the same passion he had for cricket – his sense of humour, his ‘jelly baby rules’ and his efforts as a Form Tutor make him one of the most memorable members of staff  - he will be missed by his friends, family and those familiar with his hilarious, dry wit.

NB - There are no photos, as Mr Pearman refused to ever have his photograph taken at school (he avoided all the Whole School photographs as well!)
