1. ACCOMMODATION
Participants will live in shared housing (apartment or house) within a 3 km radius of St. John’s.
The options include:
• Furnished bedrooms
• Equipped kitchen
• Laundry facilities
• Leisure areas: swimming pool, gym, sports courts, and barbecue area
• 24-hour security and gatehouse
�� Monthly investment range: £360 – £485 (depending on standard and location of the accommodation)
The accommodation is covered by St. John’s.
2. TRANSPORTATION
Commuting between the residence and St. John’s will be done on foot (for distances up
to 1 km) or by public transportation (for longer distances).
Transportation cost: £100/month – subsidized by the institution.
3. MEALS
Participants will be provided with the following meals at St. John’s:
• Breakfast
• Lunch
• Afternoon snack
�� Note: Dinner will be the participant’s responsibility and can be prepared at the accommodation.
4. REMUNERATION – TUTORING ROLE
During the Gap Year, participants will serve as teaching assistants, supporting teachers in Early Years,
Primary, Secondary, or Senior segments according to their skills and language proficiency.

7. TRAVEL AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCES
Throughout the program, participants will have opportunities for national trips and cultural experiences.
�� Estimated costs to visit tourist attractions in São Paulo:
• Public transport (bus/metro): £0.85 – £1.45 per ride
• Meals during outings: £11 – £21 per day
• Entrance fees & cultural visits: £7 – £17
These expenses are not included in the program fees and are the participant’s responsibility.
Additional notes:
• The contract is annual, renewable upon performance evaluation.
• All values are subject to annual adjustment according to operational cost variations.
• Participants must maintain ethical conduct and comply with St. John’s internal regulations.
8. OBLIGATIONS AND CODE OF CONDUCT
Travel insurance is mandatory and must cover hospitals and emergencies in Brazil.
St. John’s maintains a code of conduct ensuring a safe, respectful, and healthy environment for all
participants.
Participants commit to:
• Respect colleagues, staff, and the school community;
• Maintain ethical and responsible behavior;
• Avoid involvement in fights, alcohol consumption, or illegal drug use;
• Follow all safety and housing rules;
• Adhere to St. John’s Internal Regulations.
Termination Clause:
In the event of a serious violation of these rules, the contract may be terminated immediately, and the
participant will be returned to their home country at their own expense.
