This afternoon, Year 12 students had the fantastic opportunity to speak with Peter Lambert, who discussed his journey from Langley to the world of business management and events. Following his departure from Langley in 2008, Peter did a degree in Sports Science and Business Management from Nottingham Trent University, and then was scouted for a gap year to play cricket in New Zealand, due to his amazing talent in the sport. It was inspiring to hear how Peter’s career had developed, such as where he worked in a start-up company, scaling from 3 staff to 50 within three years. What’s more, his knack for networking played a big role in securing future places of work and helping companies to stand out from the competition. Now working for Leathes Prior Solicitors as a Business Development and Marketing Manager, Peter remains very busy, organising events and helping the business to stand out among its competition. He gave insightful and uplifting comments on challenges in business and how to overcome them, including skills and tips that could help students as they progress into the world of work. Peter still keeps up his love of sport alongside work, playing lots of cricket in his spare time; we look forward to welcoming him back to play against current students on Icenian Afternoon. All of the students attending were very grateful to Peter for coming in and speaking to us, and we wish him lots of luck with whatever may come next.
