News in brief |
Dear Alumni,
I am honoured to introduce myself as the new Headmaster of Langley School. For the last two years, I have had the privilege of serving as Senior Deputy Head and successfully guiding the school through a very positive ISI inspection. Now, having been passed the baton by Jon Perriss, I am very excited to lead Langley and embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Langley is a remarkable place. Our motto, Perseverando, reflects my belief that hard work leads to success, which also aligns with our Prep School’s motto, Conanti Dabitur. Meeting Alumni who return for our Working Lunches, Sports events, Lectures, and House Competitions has been a highlight for me. Your continued involvement and support are truly inspiring. Whilst our current students are the stars which adorn the Christmas tree, the Alumni network is the tree itself, the branches upon which our stars shine, the support that holds it all up.
I look forward to meeting you at future events, whether at drinks, lunches, or the Norfolk Show, and celebrating the achievements of Langley’s students, past and present. Your stories and experiences are a vital part of our community, and I am eager to hear them.
This is a period of change for the school, especially with the new Business rates and VAT on fees. However, Langley will persevere these hard times and thrive again. I encourage you to return to the school in the coming months and years, to revisit the place of your successes, failures, and friendships, and to see how it has evolved while remaining true to its core values. The loyalty of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the opportunities Langley provides will always endure.
Merry Christmas to you all and looking forward to 2025.
Mr Simon Cooke
Headmaster
